Income Generator Search

I thought I would search out an article with good information for those of us who are Veterans.  There are several benefits to military Veterans including loan guarantees, discounts on start-up or franchising fees, and assistance with pushing the papers required to get into business.  The article below addresses a few of these issues and lists some of the top business opportunities for those with military service in their background.

Top 10 Small Business Opportunities For Military Personnel

By Raymond Lawrence

Veterans own over 5% of all small businesses in the United States. This growing number of small businesses, upwards of 4 million, is due to the success rate of veteran business startups being higher than the average due to the experience veterans have gained serving in the armed services. While there are a number of services to help veterans with business education, loans, and many organizations to help place veterans in jobs, until 1999 there were no services specifically focused on helping veterans start their own small businesses or franchise businesses.

Currently the armed forces offer several programs and opportunities for ex-military personnel who are interested in starting their own small business, including home based businesses that will allow veterans to work from home. The army in particular now offers the Army Advantage Fund. This program offers those who qualify money to help start a small business. For a 3-year enlistment you can earn $25,000, for 4 years up to $35,000, and for five or more years you can earn up to $40,000. Here is a list of 10 great home business opportunities and small business franchises that can each be started for less than $40,000. [click to continue…]

Franchises to Look at During a Recession

by Richard on June 10, 2010

I’ve been spending more time recently with posts discussing Internet Marketing Strategies and business formation tasks and procedures.  I want to shift a little to look at some of the other types of business opportunities that can be semi-passive or worked eventually even  into passive type business ventures.  These are franchises.  Because of the economic downturn that we have been going through, I found an article discussing franchising opportunities during a recession.  Let me know if you know of other franchises that might be good during economic downturns because we may be in this one for a while.

Top 10 Franchises For a Recession

By Raymond Lawrence

Recession is one of those accursed words that by mere utterance can raise the arm hair of both politicians and businessmen, and these days in the US, there is certainly a lot of arm hair standing upright. Between major bank buyouts and bull market bailouts, recession has lately become the buzzword troubling the nation.

Though it’s certainly good to plan ahead for potential rainy days, sometimes worrying about the economy can frighten people out of committing to the very actions that would help them in the midst of economic troubles. For instance, a person may choose not to start a franchise business only because of a perceived threat in the face of recession. However, recession is not necessarily bad for business; in fact, some industries have no problem weathering recession because their services are necessity, not luxury. Here are several franchises that you can purchase without recession fears.

Affiliate Marketing Info for Us Newbies

by Richard on May 25, 2010

In my quest for income generating ideas I have definitely looked into Affiliate Marketing as a way of monetizing this site (after all making extra money is the grand goal here.)  I have looked at different strategies used for this type of marketing, and agree with many that this type of income generation needs to be a by-product of good ideas and content on a blog or other website.  Information is “the key” on the internet, and this is what people seek out the most.  But if you are providing good information to others, I do not see anything wrong from generating income from this activity as well.  I came across the article below on ezinearticles.com which I have re-published here.  I think it clearly outlines much of what I have learned about Internet and Affiliate Marketing.  Let me know what you think, or also what other strategies and tips you may have on the subject.  I’d love to hear from you.

Internet Marketing Basics – Step by Step Guide For Newbies

By Kyle Larson

Over $180,000,000,000 (180 billion) dollars are going to be spent online this year. Astonishing quantities of common people are diverting from their day job to Internet Marketing. A common trend seems to be floating around that “As soon as you setup a sale your hard life is over, you will now be generating cash on autopilot.” Before you read this article, you need to understand what you are getting into. Let’s draw a clear line between what we are hoping for, and the real deal.

I wish Internet Marketing was:

“After four days of working online I built a website and hit the first page of Google under multiple search phrases. My website gets thousands of visitors a day, and that traffic is quickly converts into sales. I’m making well over $1,500 a day, and money pours into my accounts while I sleep. I already purchased a superb vacation to a 5-star hotel to Hawaii. I am completely confident that my website will handle itself while I’m gone.”

In reality, Internet Marketing is:

“After three months of staying up late, and working for countless hours, I have finally produced a $30 sale. I made a website, filled it with high-quality content, and then spent days trying to get traffic. I have wrote countless articles, joined several free traffic systems, and used many different forms of advertisement. My work is finally starting to pay off, as my website is now getting a decent amount of traffic. My efforts definitely did not pay off as fast as I hoped, and I am yet to receive the big check, but I can see the potential starting to build.”

So, do you think you have what it takes to work for countless hours without seeing a penny in sight? 97% of “attempting” Internet Marketers will fail. The other 3% have an incredible amount of perseverance, and you also will require it. But be confident! You can do it, it just won’t be easy. Ready to learn how? Okay, lets get started. A Semi-Passive E-commerce Experiment

by Richard on April 30, 2010

I found the task of setting up an on-line e-commerce site very time consuming but well worth the effort in my opinion.  As mentioned on the previous posting, I have been busy with this.  I had decided to revamp my mother’s on-line t-shirt store to help her out because it was very, very outdated and had many errors on it.  So I decided it would be a good learning experience for me to set up an ecommerce shopping site for her that included most of the modern bells and whistles that you can find on more advanced shopping sites.  Now granted her budget is very low because for her this generates just a supplement to her retirement income.  I had to stay within her means so this meant getting budget prices and development.

The site development for her was free because I’m her son, and I don’t charge her for helping her out.  She definitely helps me out in any way she can so this is just natural for me to return the favor.  I’m sure if she had “hired out” to set this up, then she would not have been able to afford it.  Plus, I wanted to look at this project as an experiment in developing a profitable website, and take into account many of the internet marketing lessons I have learned recently from research and sites like the Internet Business Mastery program, which I had started using.  Although her business is not really passive income, because she has to make and ship the shirts, it is still semi-passive because it does not tie her down, and she can really spend just a few hours on a busy day filling the orders when she gets them.  This has allowed her to earn extra income and have a little extra for things that her retirement would not otherwise provide. Setting Up My LLC

March 28, 2010

Well I decided that no matter what business ventures I decided on pursuing, I needed to setup my company structure ahead of time.  I basically looked at the sole-proprietorship versus the limited liability corporation.  I only looked at these two because I will be the single owner and I will not have partners or even [...]

An Introduction to Stock Files

Image via Wikipedia Selling stock files is one of the best ways to generate passive income, especially for those who want to do business over the web.
